9. Discovering the Centaur Cave Chiron
Daily Hiking Program
A typical program allows us to enjoy the beautiful views and sights of the Pilion region.
Meeting point: will be in the village square of Lafkos, outside the shop "Syllogi Zafeiriou" at 11 am. After our welcome briefing we will have a small walk around the village of Lafkos.
Departure: Then we will leave and start our hike along the cobbled paths taking us through olive groves with panoramic views of the sea and the islands of Alata and Trikeri.
We will have the opportunity to admire and photograph the flora, much of which is unique to the area. Mid-way we will have the chance to rest and take in the beautiful chapel of Messosporitissa.
After that we continue onwards to the fishing village of Milina and then take the path that will lead us to the cave of Centaur Chiron, a mythological sight of the area. After there we will take a short break in one of the numerous olive groves to rest. Then, if the weather permits, we can take a dip in the calm close by beach "Vathospilia".
Return to our starting point Lafkos by the route we came or by taxi, depends on request.
Program duration: 4 hours without the return hike (extra 1.30 hours)
Cost: 2 to 8 people is 40e per person.
Included: snacks and cool drinks.
